Due to Covid-19, supply chains have been disrupted. Many retailers have asked us for the status is on various suppliers. In response, Bridge is tracking operational status for Smart Brand members. We're outputting this data on a web page for retailers and sales reps to reference.

  • Like most retailers, she has an older website with little product on it and no online registry.
  • While the economy was good, Alice kept putting off investing in a new website.
  • When the Coronavirus outbreak happened last week, she faced the reality of having to spend $5k on a new website that would take two months to setup.  Alice

Imagine you close down your e-commerce website two weeks before: 9 months of America being quarantined. Burlington Stores did that, and it likely wins worst retailer of the year award for this tragic decision. Americans will spend the next 9 months shopping from home--but not on Burlingtons's site due to its own poor choices.

Crate & Barrel sent me a compelling email. What can we learn from it when crafting our own marketing emails?
Email's feature:
1. Mentions flatware in the subject line.
2. Create urgency: displays an "Ends Monday" deadline at the top.
3. Promotes "free, local" delivery.
4. Shows a call-to-action "Shop Now" button.
5. Shows a nice table setting.

How do your marketing emails compare?Read more of post

Pay customers to shop with you: that's what it will take to stay afloat.

We can learn a lot from this Best Buy email:
1. Promote free shipping with a very low threshold. Best Buy requires just a $35 order.  What do your competitors offer?
2. Give away money to shop with you. Best Buy is offering me $5 knowing that I'll likely spend $50.
3. Show smiling faces in your advertising and emails. Show real workers--do not use stock photos.
4. Set a ...Read more of post
