How to setup a temporary registry page

When we board a retailer that has an an existing registry, we setup a temporary registry page.
The page is a mix of old and new registries.

We only use this page for a few weeks while we duplicate the registries in the member's Bridge account. The benefit of this temporary page is that we can immediately point the general public customers to this temporary page and it will give them access to the new Bridge registries as they are ready. For example. if there are 20 gift registries, on day one all 20 will lead to the old registries. By day 10, 50% of the registry links will lead to the Bridge version of the registries. The lenght of time that the temporary page is up depends on how quicklly the staff can duplicate the registreis into Bridge.

Here is how to setup a temporary page and update it:
1. Open two browser windows.
In one window, bring up the existing (soon to be 'old' registry) page.

2. Copy all of the names and wedding dates in order to a Notepad to string out formatting.

eg:
You may copy and paste into Notepad:

Casey Smith and Robby Jones ~ December 30th, 2017

Shannon Buell and Chip Seale ~ July 15th, 2017

Rebecca Baker and Trey Etter ~ June 10th, 2017

3. In your second browser window, open the retailer's Bridge account and create new custom page. Give it the title of "Gift Registry". On that page, paste the data from the Notepad:

Casey Smith and Robby Jones ~ December 30th, 2017

Shannon McDonald and Chip Dowl ~ July 15th, 2017

Rebecca Applebaum and Trey Coffee ~ June 10th, 2017

4. Make the names into links that lead back to their respective old registry.

eg:
Casey Smith and Robby Jones ~ December 30th, 2017

Do this for all names.

5. Copy the URL of this custom page.

6. Visit the Bridge member admin and find the member's profile. In the Registry URL field, paste the link to the custom page. On the member's public site, your change will make the link "Gift Registry" lead to its temporary registry custom page.

7. Now the fun part: we'll duplicate each of the registries in Bridge. As we complete each one, we'll update the link for that respective bride on the temporary page.

For example, on the old site there is registry for Casey Smith and Robby Jones. We'll go to the retailer's Bridge registry and create a new registry for Casey Smith and Robby Jones. Once we do, we'll copy the URL for that Bridge registry and update the temporary page's URL.

eg:
We'll change

Casey Smith and Robby Jones ~ December 30th, 2017

to be

Casey Smith and Robby Jones ~ December 30th, 2017

8. Once all the registry URLs point to the Bridge version, we'll no longer need this temporary page. We'll go to the member admin and remove the custom url that we entered in the member's profile. We will not delete the customer page just yet; we'll check the private box to make it private. In this way, we can still access its data should we need it.
