I believe that Constant Contact is falsely promoting it is offering a free online store. I say this because the free service allows you to offer just 3 products and you must display a big advertisement for Constant Contact. Most retailers offer hundreds or thousands of products. A super small number of stores can offer just 3 products online. In addition, most stores don't want a big advertisement at the bottom of their website. Indie retailers are being hunted online by Amazon, Zola, and brands using their direct to consumer sites. They are triangulating around their prey. These entries are picking off their online customers and thereby their ‘supply chains‘ that keep them afloat online. For Brands

Does your website have an inspiration section? You should according to a Gartner survey of shoppers. Thirty-seven percent of shoppers visit a brand's site to get inspiration (aka they don't know exactly what product they want), and sadly less than half of brand sites (38%) offer inspirational content.

What can you do? Add a web page dedicated to lifestyle pictures and what's new. Show the bigger picture in which your products are being used and loved.

Business lunch: how retail is changing :)

Old retail is 80% analog. This consists of: the physical store, staff, customer service training, etc. What you’d expect walking into a Saks or Macy's. And it's about 20% tech: computers, cash registers (POS systems), mobile shopping, Google ranking, apps, hiring social influencers, Instagram, etc.
